About KLUU

“… it was time to really find out who Karen Luu is, what Love is, what Life is and be on the road to living her dream.”
I guess as a starting point to begin this autobiography is the above quote. I wrote this on the first few days that I started KLUUBLOG almost a year ago - what a year it has been.
I”m grateful that I used a year to really focus on those three questions above:
1. Who Karen Luu is.
2. What Love is.
3. What Life is.
… and hence be on the road to living my dream.
Who is Karen Luu?
Karen Luu is a very determined woman, who has a strong side and a really vulnerable and weak side. Karen is someone who can take on great stress, problematic situations and some how find her way out of the situation, solve the problem and walk away with a positive story and meaning with it.
Karen Luu is a multifaceted person. She has different sides of her, different personalities that come forth at the right time. It is not that she has facades or “masks”, it is just that when she is dealing with business, she is a businesswoman; when she is at College, she is a student; when she is at party, she is a party person; when she is at home with her friends, family or lover, she is a great friend, a loving family member and a committed and loving partner.
What is Love?
Love is beautiful feeling. It is something that is unconditional. It is something that you need to feel for yourself before you can give it to others, or to feel it for yourself.
I remember one of the most difficult and most painful lessons I learnt this year was to learn to accept love. I know. Not even to give, but to accept. To accept someone else’s gift and really just sit with it. I remember crying and having this really confused feeling inside - “Good things are not supposed to happen to me”, but indeed, good things do happen to the ones that deserve it.
Love is the passion and the amount of time you give to someone or something. Love is wanting to live each and everyday as healthily as possible. Love helps you get out of bed in the morning. Love makes you feel stronger and gives you the courage to go out there and fight.
One of my favourite quotes for love is from Lao Tzu -
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, loving someone deeply gives you courage” - Lao Tzu.
It keeps me going and keeps me believing in love.
What is Life?
Life is meaningless. There is no meaning to life unless you give it meaning. There is not one reason why we live. We don’t live for a person, we don’t live for love, we don’t live for food! We live for the sake of living, but what we do each day is how we choose to live.
I choose to live each day as comfortable as I can. I choose to only do the things that I want to do, and only speak, hear, watch, be involved with people I choose.
I’ve learnt how to play the guitar. I’ve learnt how to communicate better with people. I’ve learnt how to take hold of opportunities and not to play the game of “I’m too afraid of moving forward”.
With life there is death. Though, death is not scary. Death gives us an opportunity to take hold of the life that we now have in our hands. It pushes us forward and makes us do what we need to do. Makes us do what we want to do. Makes us take a risk and just try before it’s too late.
“We have more possibilities available in each moment than we realize.” - Thich Nhat Hanh
so I guess from here, there really isn’t any where else I can go, except forward. There are many things that I want to venture into now and I feel like I’ve developed the strength and courage to continue forward.
It isn’t Karen Luu if she didn’t take a simple question and turned it into an essay.. and this was a very short version of what she could go into! ![]()
